Hawk Highlights
One School, One Family, One Timberview
Principal's Point 1/15
As you all are aware, one of Keller ISD's core values is "Respect for the diversity of our school community through a culture of understanding and personalized learning opportunities." This core value directly connects with our campus vision of creating a family where students take care of one another by supporting and valuing each person in the building. Our goal is to create a culture where all students and staff feel that they belong. We believe that by creating a safe and inclusive environment, our students will have the opportunity to not just make it through this school year, but to thrive and grow.
In support of that effort, a group of our students in our Student Council have created the Equality Committee and one of the the first projects they came up with is called Five4Equality. They hope to promote inclusivity related to various social identities for the remainder of the year by focusing on a different topic each month. There will be a fun competition each month centered on creating an inclusive Timberview campus for our students to participate in if they would like to.

We at Timberview and Keller ISD acknowledges that developing cultural competency as a school and a district is a journey, and we are proud to be a campus that positively engages our students and community along the way.
Have a wonderful 3 day weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!

MAP Testing : Jan. 19 - Jan. 20
1/19: Math MAP Assessment (Bring your chromebook, charger and earbuds to school)
1/20: Reading MAP Assessment (Bring your chromebook, charger and earbuds to school)
The MAP Assessment is an online assessment delivered 3 times per year at every K-8 campus in Keller ISD. The purpose of the assessment is to provide nationally-normed data on all of our students to better support their growth in math, and reading. In the fall, we delivered these assessments in their respective content classes, but we found that administering the test over the course of multiple days took longer and was not as effective as it could be. Therefore, for our mid-year assessment, we will be administering the test campus-wide similar to how we do our STAAR tests. This test is a diagnostic tool only and will not impact your student’s grades. Students will go to their first period class and will move to their testing center from there. They will be in their testing centers until their normally scheduled lunch time and then will follow an amended schedule for the remainder of the day. All of our students need to make sure that they bring their fully charged Chromebook to class on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Remote Students: You will also participate in MAP on Tuesday and Wednesday morning and then follow the schedule below for the remainder of the day.
All students will follow an amended schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday.
