Happenings at Log College
Despite the weather and winter doldrums, things have not slowed down at Log College! The students participating in our musical and stage crew are diligently preparing for their upcoming performances on March 8th and 9th. Our Reading Olympians are preparing for the upcoming Bucks County Reading Olympics. The boys basketball team just defeated the New Hope MS Lions yesterday. Our music ensembles are practicing for the upcoming annual Fine Arts Week and spring concerts.
In addition to the activities that were just mentioned, we have a number of clubs that our students can participate in after school, many of which have just started this year! Student interest is at an all-time high, and we are very fortunate to have many highly dedicated teachers to serve as faculty advisors. As a part of this week's Times, several of the clubs have been highlighted so you can learn more about what our students can get involved with as a part of the Log community.

Art Club
This year, the members of Log's Art Club are focused on creating art for the school. For the past few meetings, students have been creating three dimensional flowers that will become part of an inspirational mural on the second floor. Once the mural is finished, students will have time to create work for themselves- whether it's experimenting with a new medium or working in a different style art than they're normally used to. Students do not have to be enrolled in an Art course at Log in order to participate in the club. This club, run by Ms. Berner, is open to students in grades 6-8.
Stage Crew
The Stage Crew is club organized by Ms. Janser to support our school musical. Any student interested in being behind the scenes to contribute to the success of the show was welcome to apply. The student application process provided real world experience as students had to identify their qualities and explain prior experience(s) which would support their ability to help run the play. Members of the club are currently working hard to get The Wizard of Ozready for opening night in March!
Theory Club
This is a unique club that was started by two students, Gavin Henderson and Landen Jenkins, with the help of Ms. Waldinger. Here, students analyze selected clips from kid-friendly movies, T.V. shows, and video games to create theories. These theories explain how different phenomena might be happening or explaining how a character came to possess superhuman skills. The club meets in room 11 most Wednesday's until 4:15.
Homework Club
Student Council
The purpose of the Student Council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities. This club is open to students in all grades and offers a variety to opportunities for participate. This includes the running the School Store, making posters to advertise events, and organizing/running community service events such as the Log-a-Thon. Any student who would like to participate should contact Mrs. Ciliberto.
