Music in the Parks Festival
The Glen Crest symphonic band had a successful day of competition on Saturday, May 7th, at the "Music in the Parks Festival" at Six Flags Great America. The 7th & 8th grade band travelled to Viking Middle School in Gurnee for the competition and performed two pieces in front of the audience and judges. The Glen Crest students did an amazing job performing! There were music groups from schools in Illinois and Indiana at the competition.
The rest of the day was spent at Six Flags Great America and concluded with an awards ceremony in the Grand Music Hall. The Glen Crest band was awarded 1st place with a rating of Superior. Mrs. Berry and Mr. Garbar are proud of the hard work and dedication of all the band students this year. They would like to thank Ms. Kline and Mr. Ladendof for bringing along the orchestra to cheer on the band. They would also like to thank Mr. Dietel and Mr. Crawford who chaperoned the trip.
