Collaborative Leadership
The key to effective management
What is Collaborative Leadership?
It is a style of leadership in which everyone is involved in the organization and decision making process of the company.
Collaborative leadership could be classified in the contingency theory- that the best leadership style depends on the situation.
The term started to appear in the 1990's after Elisabeth moss Kanter wrote about the importance of collaborative leadership in her 1994 Harvard business review article "Collaborative Advantage".
Advantages: Better division of labor, greater creative input.
Disadvantages: conflicts in working styles, too many fuax leaders.
Collaborative leadership in practice looks like the leader listening to and considering everyone's opinion, then putting a group effort towards the best decision.
