Project Lead the Way
Students have dove into a unit on machines. Students have been actively talking about and building simple/compound machines with their Vex components. We directly connected this with how certain components of our bodies function, specifically the elbow. The students took goniometers and measured each other’s minimum and maximum range of motion at the elbow. We compiled that data as a class, analyzed it and used it to set a range that a majority of students in the class were able to move through. We took the range and modeled a human elbow with Vex components. Each student had to brainstorm, draw conceptual sketches and then use those sketches to guide their design. They often find out that what they initially design and plan is seldom what the final design looks like…..the engineering design process in action.

Freddie Care Closet
The goal is to provide students with food, clothing or personal items while keeping it anonymous.
How it works:
- Students scan the QR code and email is sent to one of the Counselors.
- The student will be called down to meet with the Counselor to discuss their needs.
- If the student is comfortable, the Counselor and student can walk together to the Care Closet or the student can share what they need and the Counselor will get it for them.

Supporting Our Freddies
Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. We encourage everyone to actively participate in creating a nurturing environment that promotes open communication, empathy, and understanding. If you know a student who may need support, or if you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our social workers or school counselors. Working together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of our students.
