Lincolnś first solution to slavery was a fiasco
Lincoln´s solution to slavery was a complete failure the first time. First Lincoln went to an island called Cow Island and tried to stop slavery but he did not succeed. The people said they did not want to seperate the blacks from the whites. Everyone thought he was very dumb and would never get far in life.

Military Draft
Congress enacts the first draft in American history, requiring every man to serve in the army unless he can furnish a substitute or pay the government $300. These escape provisions are wildly unpopular with workers and recent immigrants, and lead to draft riots in New York and other northern cities. How they were drafted was from 1940 until 1973, during both peacetime and periods of conflict, men were drat to fill vacancies in the armed forces which could not be filled through voluntary means. The draft was ended when the United States military moved to an all-volunteer military force

First Battle of Bull Run
The First Battle of Bull Run was the first major land battle of the war. It occurred near Manassas, Virginia. Union forces from Washington, DC totaling 28,450, under the command of General Irvin McDowell, attempted to surprise 32,230 Confederate troops. The Union suffered nearly 3,000 casualties. This is the battle that earned "stonewall" Jackson his name.This was the first major land battle of the armies in Virginia. On July 16, 1861, the untried Union army under Brig. Gen. Also Irvin Mcdowell marched from Washington against the Confederate army, which was drawn up behind Bull Run beyond Centreville.
