The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a time of growth in London and America. the world advanced in technology in this time. This growth went on from the 1850s to the 1900s. There were thousands of inventors that made a huge impact on the world today with their inventions. We would not have the things we have today , like cell phones, without inventors like Henry Ford, and Thomas Edison. This is a picture of what a factory looked like during the industrial revolution.^^^^^
Henry Ford
Henry Ford invented a way to mass produce the car,and the assembly line. Both of these are very big in our world today.
Alexander Graham Bell
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. This was the beginning of our cell phones.
Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison invented the light bulb and the motion camera. The motion camera is so advanced it is even built into our phones today. The light bulb is how we get all of our light today.
Child Labor
Child labor was a huge problem during the Industrial Revolution. Children as young as 5 would be working 12 hour shifts in a factory. There was no schools at that point so kids would go to work instead of school. One of the more famous children that worked in the factory's was Addie Card. She was in a textile factory for 7-10 year olds, but she was 12. The factory owners lied and said that she was 10.
The Assembly Line
The assembly line was invented by Henry Ford, and basically doubled the amount of product of being made in a certain amount of time. It was first used by Henry Ford in his business. In the simulation the assembly line made 2 times the work than the "experts".
Above is a picture of the assembly line.^^^^
