Important MMS Information
Parent Survey, End of Year GPA Deadlines, and Assemblies
May 10, 2021
Dear MMS Parents/Guardians:
In 2019 Meridian Middle School was recognized as having a “safe, supportive, and collaborative culture” by the Marzano Research Group and our District Certification Team (DCT). While we continue to strive toward this commitment, we are also dedicated to providing “effective teaching in every classroom” (HRS Level 2).
Your feedback is instrumental to this process. Please take a moment to provide your input by completing the short survey below. If you would like more information on High-Reliability Schools, please click on the link below.
Our Awards Assemblies will take place on Tuesday, June 8th. On Thursday, May 20th, we will be using each student's current cumulative grades and GPA pulled from PowerSchool to determine which students qualify to receive the GPA Award of 3.5 or better. Awards will not be issued for students whose current cumulative GPA does not meet the 3.5 or above criteria on Thursday, May 20th. Please make sure your child is aware of the cut-off date and have all work turned in early enough to be graded and entered into PowerSchool by Thursday, May 20th.
During the upcoming weeks, we will be recognizing the achievements of our students through awards assemblies and a celebration of our 8th-grade students as they embark on their new journey into high school. All Awards Assemblies and the Turning Points Ceremony (8th Grade) will be recorded and a link will be shared with parents. Stay tuned for details and check the "important dates" document below.
Sincerely,
Lisa Austin, Principal
