Principal's Message
Greetings and Happy New Year!
I hope that the Winter break was relaxing and filled with happiness. Given all of the challenges this school year has presented, theseems to be moving especially fast! As we move into 2021, the staff and I are extremely excited about seeing the progress for each of our students! We look forward to continuing to work together to maximize the learning experience for our students!
We will be continuing with our Hybrid Schedule, alternating Blue Week and Gold Week. Please see the calendar below for information regarding events and when each group meets in person.
I want to thank all families for following the guidelines to keep our school community safe. Please remember that if you have traveled over the Winter Break outside the state that your should have your child attend school virtually through the fourteen day quarantine. Also, if you, your child, or any member of your household is experiencing symptoms, please err on the side of caution and have your child attend school virtually. If you have any questions, you can contact our school nurse, Mrs. Irons, to assist you.
December was another successful month, both in the classroom and within the school community. I want to personally thank all of the people who donated to the Strive for Warmth drive and to the December Food Drive. Both events were a huge success and resulted in an immediate and direct impact to members of the Florence Township School Community!
As always, the easiest way to keep up on all these events is to check our website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and be sure you are connected to your child's Class Dojo. Also, check out the link to our PTA newsletter below for tons of useful information.
Have a happy and healthy 2021!
All The Best,
Christopher Butler
Principal
Benchmark Assessments
In January, we will be completing our second round of MAP testing as well as benchmark testing by our Basic Skills team. While benchmark testing is taking place, students in the Basic Skills program will not be meeting with their teachers.
These tests provide us with student achievement data that allows us to analyze growth both individually and by grade level. If completeing these assessments virtually, it is best for students to complete them independently in order tfor use to get a clear picture of each student's progress.
Attendance
In order to maximize learning and ensure successful completion of the grade levle curriculum, student presence and participation are crucial.

BOX Tops
Don't forget to submit your boxtops by scanning your receipts after each shopping trip! Cut-out box tops are no longer being accepted, so the only way to submit is through the app.
Here's how to do it:
download the Box Tops app on your mobile device.
Search for "Roebling Five Elementary School"
Scan your receipt each time you shop and the app will automatically calculate if there are any Box Top eligible purchases made. (note: you only have a 14 day window to scan a receipt, after that it is no longer valid)
