Name That Cat!
With all of the the moves that the Philadelphia Ducks have made, the 76ers haven't won a game in weeks, and I feel pretty confident in saying that the Flyers won't be hoisting the cup again this year. I think it's pretty safe to assume that if you are a Philadelphia sports fan these days you are just miserable right about now. That is why are friendly wildcat has decided to spread some Wildcat Pride in the City of Brotherly Love. Can you guess who has donned the cat head this week? Happy guessing and stayed tuned as we will reveal the true identity in next weeks addition.

Melissa Gallagher Flips her Classroom
The flipped classroom is a teaching method in which students watch lessons at home on a laptop, notebook, tablet, phone, etc. Using the flipped classroom approach allows students to work at their own pace, and on their own time. Additionally, by watching the videos for homework, students come to class prepared and with questions on the next day’s lesson. Using this method, Mrs. Gallagher can easily identify the students’ understanding and what concepts they maybe struggling with once they have entered class. As a result, her students have a deeper understanding of the material and they have more time to practice the mathematical concepts in class with her guidance.
Mrs. Gallagher uses the app Explain Everything to create the flipped lessons. She then uploads the videos to YouTube. Once the videos have been uploaded Mrs. Gallahger post the tutorials into Edmodo where students can access them. Students are then to complete the notes while watching the tutorial and complete some practice problems on their own for homework. This also helps with students who are absent because they do not fall behind in her class.
