A Special Message for Wade King Kids
It is Friday! This is the day our whole school is usually together for our school meeting. We will send you "News for WK Kids' every Friday. It will have announcements, a fun movement song, and new learning, just like we would do at our Friday School Meeting.
Love,
Mrs. Johnson & Mr. Holmgren... and all the other adults at Wade King

ANNOUNCEMENT: Virtual Talent Show
ENTERIES MUST BE TURNED IN BY MAY 8th
This year, Talent Show performers will submit a 30-60 second video before May 8th to share their talent. These video clips will be compiled into a 'Wade King Has Talent' video that we will send out to Wade King families as a link.
Video clips need to be emailed to Ms. Adita (who is a WK parent, staff member, and PTA Vice-President) or texted to Mrs. Johnson (360-201-7801) before Friday, May 8th. There are a few guidelines for planning your act...
- Video clips need to be 60 seconds or less.
- Students who wish to sing songs must do so acapella or have accompaniment (pre-recorded, karaoke or live instrument). No lip-synching.
- If an act includes music, parents should support students in choosing music with content that is appropriate for all ages.
MANDARIN MINUTE
Today Wáng Lǎoshī will teach us about perspective in this traditional tale, entitled "Blind Men and the Elephant." The story is read in Mandarin and there are English subtitles on the bottom. At the end of the story, Wáng Lǎoshī asks you some questions about what you think. Click the link below to start the video.
Sam misses the library!
MOVEMENT SONG: Mrs. Norman and Mrs. Bergquist teach you how to play Sei Sei Sei
NEW LEARNING with Mrs. Hunter
May is Asian Pacific Heritage Month! Today we'll feature the book Drawn Together by Minh Le and Dan Santat in a read aloud by Mrs. Hunter. Below the read aloud link you'll find more links for deeper dives into the book, the author, the illustrator, and Asian Pacific Heritage Month virtual galleries and museums. Enjoy!
MINDFUL MOMENT: Breathing Ball
We always end our school meetings with a Mindful Momen to calm our bodies. Today, Ms. Ali is going to help us use a 'breathing ball.' Click the link below to start the video.
