The #1 ranked Chandler Wolves beat Salpointe 24-16 on Saturday to move into the Open Division State Championship finals. STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SPIRIT BUSES
Students, if you need a ride to this Saturday’s football championship game, $5.00 and a permission slip will get you on a spirit bus and into the 4:00pm game at ASU. Permission slips are available in the bookstore and front office. $5.00 and signed permission slip are due to the bookstore no later than 3:00 this Thursday. You must have your ID to purchase your ticket and get on the bus. Let’s fill those stands, Wolves!
ORCHESTRA POPS CONCERT
Last Monday’s Orchestra Pops Concert featured Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphonic Band performing eight numbers from “Broadway and Beyond”. A highlight of the concert was the combo of Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Band performing well known songs from Grease and The Phantom of the Opera. Thanks to Concert Mistress Elise Owens (Chamber) and Concert Master Chieu Nguyen (Symphonic) for their excellent work. Finally, thank you to Ms. Danelle Kennedy and Mr. Carlos Aguero for conducting and combining groups.

Congratulations to Carson Kelly for being named to the Welcome to the Jungle Holiday Basketball All-Tournament Team! Carson played tremendously well all week, leading the Wolves to a 3-1 record with wins over Corona, Valley Vista, and Williams Field.

CHANDLER FFA
Chandler FFA toured a Git R Done pig show in Yuma last week. Git R Done is known for breeding champion pigs for livestock shows all over the country; currently they have won 51 Championship banners for this year alone. Chandler FFA learned about breeding, care, nutrition, training and how to pick a great show pig. FFA brought home 16 pigs that will be shown at the Maricopa County Fair in April.

As in years past, CHS is adopting some of our own students who could use some holiday magic. Community members who are interested in being a part of National Honor Society’s Angel Tree tradition are encouraged to come to the front office, choose an angel, sign in, and deliver the unwrapped gift(s) to the front office by Tuesday, December 10th. 2020 MAYOR’S TEEN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
The 2020 Mayor's Teen Leadership Academy applications are now open. You can apply by visiting the Mayor's Teen Leadership website. The class will run March 16-20, 2020 from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
The Teen Leadership Academy is a free, five-day program held during the spring school intersession that teaches participants about the inner-workings of municipal government, from the Mayor and Council office to every department in the City.
Applications close December 13, 2019.

YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAININGS
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (included ADHD), and eating disorders.
