NEW: This Week's Message from Mr. Smith
Northwest High School Families,
Happy Sunday Evening and a Happy Chinese New Year to those in Jag Nation who celebrate. As we head into the last week of the second marking period and the first semester, it is important that every student works hard to finish strong. Reach out to teachers, stop in their classrooms at lunch and make certain you are utilizing your resources. A reminder that this Friday, January 27 is a professional day for staff and thus, no school for students.
Academic Advisement for the 2023-2024 School year
Course registration for the 2023-2024 school year for current Northwest High School students kicked off on January 3, 2023. The counseling department will be visiting students through English classes to share information about the course registration process and course offerings. Throughout the month of January, students will meet individually with their counselor to review and finalize course selections. All registration materials are posted on the Northwest website on the Courses/Registration quick links tab. If students or parents have any questions, please reach out to your student’s counselor.
A reminder for students in grades 9-11! You can order your student photos by visiting vosphoto.com/uc. Use your student ID when prompted for the online code.

REMINDER: School Cash Online Registration and PIN Information (Important for AP Exams)
MCPS has transitioned to a new online payments system called SchoolCash Online (SCO). This will be the preferred method of payment for all school-related fees, excluding school lunches. SCO will help increase efficiency and security at schools by making payments directly into schools’ bank accounts and eliminating the need for teachers to handle money. A processing fee will be included on all items available for purchase, regardless of the type of payment used on SCO or at the school. Parents/guardians can register for an SCO account here. When adding students to your account, you will be asked for the student PIN number. This PIN number is not the student ID. Parents/guardians should have received the PIN via email from scopinprocess@mcpsmd.org in early August and then again in early September. If you need support with the registration process or adding your student(s), please email MCPS’ community support drop box at communitytechsupport@mcpsmd.org. You can also contact Mrs. Miller, school financial specialist, via email at Jacqueline_N_Miller@mcpsmd.org, to obtain your students PIN number.
