Our Vision: Working together to promote an environment where every child belongs and grows into a lifelong learner.
Principal's Message
Last Friday, our Disco Dance was such a great success and a great time had by all who attended! Our PTO works very hard to plan and host these wonderful experiences for our students and families. We also appreciated the final push for food and beverage donations as the cafeteria was crowded all night with a lot of great options provided by our amazing Shaull families! Our next big event will be May Fair on May 17th at 6 PM. Once again we will need volunteers to assist the PTO. As we move closer to the May Fair date, we will share information on how to help out at that great annual event. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that we had our PTO meeting this Wednesday on Zoom. Other than the PTO board, myself, and two teachers, we had no other Shaull parents join us. Our PTO is the Parent-Teacher Organization. In order for our PTO to be successful for future generations of Shaull students and teachers, we need participation by our parents. Please reach out to me or the PTO at shaullpto@gmail.com, shpto@cvschools.org, or rtysarczyk@cvschools.org for information on how to attend a Zoom PTO meeting or how to get involved in our events. Our PTO meetings are one Wednesday each month and generally are 30-45 minutes in length. We unequivocally count on our parents to help the PTO do its magic. Thank you for your consideration.
Please see the below sections on the Annual Plant Sale and Discounted Hersheypark tickets, both spearheaded by our PTO.
Lastly, we have an update regarding our Gaga Pit. Our Gaga Pit has finally been installed on our playground. Our PE teacher, Mr. Condran, will be teaching each class in the school how to play Gaga Ball in the pit during upcoming PE classes. Following this tutorial with Mr. C, our students will be able to use it at recess. Once again, we greatly appreciate our families raising an incredible amount of $22,000 for the Fun Run back in the fall, which enabled us to reach our goal to purchase the Gaga Pit.
Please note that Spring Break is coming up. There will be no school on Thursday, March 28, Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mr. T.

Welcome to Shaull, Miss Miller!
Welcome to our new 5th grade teacher, Miss Miller. Miss Miller will soon replace Mrs. Greenholt as Mrs. Greenholt moves to Middlesex Elementary School.
Hello Shaull Families!
I am from Mechanicsburg, PA and have been a CV Eagle since I was five years old! I went to Green Ridge Elementary, Eagle View Middle School and graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 2019. After High School, I went to West Chester University to pursue my dream of getting an Early Elementary Education Degree and playing collegiate volleyball. My favorite places to go are the beach and Disney World. I love to volunteer for the High School and Middle School Volleyball teams at CV and coach a club volleyball team in Chambersburg. I also love to swim in my pool and spend time with my friends and family. I am excited to work at Shaull Elementary because having grown up in the area I have always heard the many great things about Shaull. I am super excited to get to know all the staff and the students and their families!
Sincerely,
Miss Miller
Farewell to Mrs White!
Today was Mrs. White's last day at Shaull Elementary School. Mrs. White is an Educational Assistant who works with students across all grades in classrooms, at lunch, and at recess. We wish Mrs. White all the best in her role at Middlesex Elementary!

Eagle Spotlight!
Check out this wonderful commendation!
Mr. Pryor inspires our 3rd grade son to continue the conversation at home. Recently, we have been talking about the Air and Space Museum we visited over the summer and how this relates to what he is reading in CKLA right now. We talked about The Challenger, astronauts, and even the contributions people make. In addition, we have loved reading Charlotte's Web each night and look forward to hearing Mr. Pryor's trivia question about the reading the following day! Thanks, Mr. Pryor for all the great memories!

Cell Phones/Smart Devices Expectations for School
We have recently had several occurrences where students are texting their parents on smart watches to be picked up from school due to feeling ill or to be removed from other stressors of the school day. As a reminder, students are not permitted to have their cell phones on them during the instructional day or to be texting from other devices during the school day. Students may bring phones, but must have them secured in their backpacks/cubbies during the day. The school is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen cell phones.
More students are coming to school with smart watches. Students may wear their watches to school. However, students may not make/take calls and texts throughout the school day while in class. We have had several cases this year where students are texting their parent from their watch to come and pick them up from school. Any student who is not feeling well must follow school procedures, which includes going to see the school nurse if they are not feeling well. Only the school principal and school nurse may send students home. Please have a conversation with your child regarding the appropriate use of their smart watch if they wear one to school. We greatly appreciate your support with this as we wish to have students focused on their instruction during the school day.
