Ring Leader Tidbits
~ The end of the year is coming...May starts this week! It's crazy how fast the year has gone, but we still have 4 weeks left...so there's still a lot to do and a lot going on!
~ TTESS conferences have concluded. Please make sure you log on to Strive and sign all of your documents, so we can get everything closed out and inputted successfully. We enjoyed meeting with everyone, discussing the SLO's, getting feedback and looking at how everyone can grow for the coming years. Thanks to everyone for being open and honest during our discussions.
~ We are excited to celebrate you all next week during Teacher Appreciation Week! The schedule of activities is below! We hope you enjoy the week!
Monday- Chick Fil-A Lunch (PTA)
Tuesday- Breakfast a la carte (we will come by your room with a cart of breakfast items)
Sonic Drinks for everyone (PTA)
Wednesday- Dessert Bar in the lounge
Thursday- still TBD
Friday: Enjoy lunch from El Sombrero!!
~ With only a few weeks left and the weather getting warm, summer fever is hitting! Teachers are tired, students are tired and parents are tired! Please remember to focus on positive reinforcers. When we start taking away things this early in the game, the students have nothing to work for. If you are going to implement a system in which they lose a priviledge, you need to also implement a way for them to work to earn it back. IF there is no motivation for them to work hard, then it's going to make things more difficult in the long run. This is the time of year when we often have to get creative!
~ This year, the last 2 days of school are 1/2 days. This means that there isn't a full work day/check-out day like in years past. The 1/2 day on the 29th must be used for staff development. Kathleen will be scheduling end of the year LPAC's on that day, and other meetings might be scheduled as well. I will most likely be planning a meeting to collect grade level RtI data, in order to make sure everything will be transferred over to RA next year, and nothing is lost in the process.
School Bulletin
~ I sent an email to teachers about the Jennifer Saravallo training in September, and I've already had a huge response. I don't know how many spots we will be able to get, so just know that I will do my best. I will try to get as many as possible, but I cannot guarantee that everyone who has shown interest will be able to go, due to cost. But...I will try my best!
~3rd-5th teachers, I will be emailing you for a time to meet to discuss schedules for next year. I would like to have it fairly "ironed out" before our planning meeting, as to allow ample time to discuss everything else. I have spoken to RandiAnn, and she is on board with this, and feels that whatever decisions we make, will be fine.
~ Kindergarten Roundup is this Thursday, and registration opened today. Kindergartners ARE considered new students UNLESS they are coming from Hafley. In case you have any parents ask, I wanted to make sure everyone knew!!
~ Returning student verification also opened today. Please encourage parents to go online and complete the returning student verification forms. This will allow us to have more accurate numbers for next year, thus helping HR to determine IF we need additional teachers in certain grade levels.
~ Muffins with Mom is this Friday starting at 7:05 AM. Notes went home last week, and RSVP's are due by Wednesday. Make sure you turn those into Christine (or put in my box), so we can get an accurate number of muffins to purchase.
~ KG Transportation Parade is this Friday! Yay!! This is always a fun event! Shannon sent an email this morning that outlined the route! Plan to bring your students outside to cheer on the kindergartners!
