NSHS Library
Annual Report 2013-2014
It's been a busy year!
Holding steady at nearly 700 research classes taught.
Print book circulation is holding steady, despite a shrinking collection size.
We have been actively weeding our print collection to improve its currency and relevance and to shift more towards the digital resources that students prefer.
eBooks are growing increasingly popular, for both research and pleasure.
iPads and Chromebooks are very popular in the library.
Students in English Classes contributed many reviews to the NSHS Book Blog this year.
The library website continues to attract thousands of visitors seeking research support.
We continue to get the word out to students, faculty and the wide world using social media.
We're looking forward to a great 2014-15 in a fresh and inviting space.
Thanks to those who donated to the PTSO Success@South program earlier this year, a new technology counter has been installed in the library to facilitate virtual research and collaboration, as well as significantly increase student work surfaces in the library. Access to natural light, with a view into the lovely courtyard will also make the counter an ideal space for quiet study.
Over the summer the library will get new lighting, carpeting, paint, counter stools and some mobile book shelves. We are certain that students will be delighted with the updates when they arrive in the fall.
Happy summer!
