Jazz Band Begins Tomorrow Night!
We have a great jazz band program in Lisle and we are beginning our 6th grade jazz band rehearsals tomorrow! We will play some jazz music and some rock music, and we would love all the students to participate. Rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 and they are directed by Mrs. Kiener. All students are invited to come out and play regardless of which instrument they play. We usually have flute, oboe, and clarinet players switch to saxophone for jazz band. We also need students to play drum set, piano, bass, and guitar. If you have any jazz band questions, please direct them to Mrs. Kiener at lkiener@lisle202.org.
First Concert: Wednesday, October 25th
We have our first performance of the year on the horizon at the end of October. We will be performing as the opening act for the high school marching band concert on Wednesday, October 25th at 7:30 PM in the high school auditorium. We are looking forward to the opportunity to perform and to hear the high school band up close.
More information will be sent out as the date gets closer, but for now please make sure that the date is saved in your calendars.
Weekly Lessons
Similar to last year, the students will have a weekly small-group lesson in addition to our full band classes. Lessons began a few weeks ago. 6th grade lessons take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The lesson calendar and groups can be found on our website at http://www.lisleband.com/lisle-junior-high.html.
