Business Meeting
Megan Haines, a 3rd grade Parkway Manor student, led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The PHS Girls Volleyball team was recognized for winning the State Championship. They only lost two matches in the playoffs over the last four years. Mr. Moniz introduced Coach Mike Krause who recognized his assistant coaches Heather Wealand, Jesse Krasley and Heather Tice. He noted that the girls won 45 out of 46 competitions and tied one game. They were recognized as #9 out of 17,000 high schools by Max Preps. That accomplishment came out of commitment and selflessness, being a great teammate and a great student with great character. The team champions are: Sam Graver, Morgan Sherwin, Brooke Robertson, Avery Perosa, Erika Foote, Megan Shaw, Siena Salvaggio, Kristin Krause, Kirah Dreisbach, Sam Webber, and Kristin Keck. Coach Krause also recognized the team managers for their commitment and help in practices:
Andrew Hillman, Jack Dreisbach, Jared Silverstein, Kyle Stout and Michael Zeky.
Dr. Rod Troutman, Assistant Superintendent, reviewed staffing needs for the 2015-16 school year. His presentation can be viewed here.
John Vignone, Director of Business Administration, reviewed the expenditure projections for the 2015-16 General Fund Budget. It can be viewed here.
The Board unanimously approved the 2015-16 Lehigh Career and Technical Institute General Fund and Academic Center Budget, the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 General Operating Budget, and the Lehigh Carbon Community College Operating and Capital Budgets.
The Board awarded Stantec Architecture and Engineering a contract to conduct a feasibility study that will produce demographics and enrollment projections in all three townships for the next 10 years, review all facilities, property and programs, and specifically look at the Troxell Building (whether to renovate it or raze it) and options to implement a full day kindergarten program.

The next Community Advisory Council meeting will occur on April 9, 2015 at 6:15 PM at PHS. The topic will be the PHS PALS Program and the LCCC Transitions program for students with special needs who are graduating and preparing to join the world of work.
The Board approved a policy that allows Veterans free admission into Parkland athletic events and the Board thanked athletic director Jeff Geisel for bringing this policy change forth for their approval.
Everyone offered congratulations to the volleyball team. Mark Hanichak asked if the School Board could pause to shake hands with awardees when we have students and staff recognition during board meetings. Bob Bold mentioned that one of the volleyball players, Siena Salvaggio, also won two gold medals in swimming, such a rare accomplishment!
