Wisconsin Forward Exam - Important Reminders
Testing for the Wisconsin Forward Exam begins for 8th Grade students on Wednesday, March 20th. Grades 5, 6 & 7 will begin testing after Spring Break.
On testing days all students need:
- Their district issued Chromebook - fully charged
- Corded headphones - wireless earbuds/headphones are not allowed on this exam
Love and Logic Parenting Skills and Techniques
Mill Valley Elementary will be hosting a 5 week session starting on Wednesday, April 3rd . Please note that reservations are necessary as seating is limited.
Lions Club Vision Screening for 5th Grade Students
The Muskego Lions Club will be conducting vision screening for 5th grade students on Monday, March 4, 2024. If you do not want your child to participate please contact the health office at 262-971-1820 ext. 7436. The parents of any student that does not pass this screening will be notified by email.
NJHS Make A Wish Spaghetti Dinner
The LDMS NJHS chapter will be hosting a Make a Wish Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, April 26th at LDMS Gym. We hope that you will be able to join us for this amazing event.

LDMS Track and Field
Track and field is a co-curricular sport for 7th and 8th graders at Lake Denoon Middle School. Any 7th & 8th grade students who are interested are asked to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, March 5th right after school in Ms. Rilling's room (105) Please have your student picked up from the meeting at 3:40. If your student is unable to attend this meeting, have them send an email to Coach Rilling elizabeth.rilling@muskegonorway.org.
Bingo Bash
Muskego Lakes will be hosting Bingo on Friday, March 15th from 4:30 - 6:30. This event is for all students 5-8 grade from both Lake Denoon and Muskego Lakes. Admission will cost $5 at the door and there will be concessions available for purchase as well. This will be a fun opportunity for students to hang out with their classmates and have the chance to win some awesome prizes! If your child is interested in playing, sign up here by Tuesday, March 12. Sign-up is required ahead of time so that we can plan for staffing. Youth Art Month
Please help celebrate Muskego Norway’s annual Youth Art Month on March 12th from 5-6 PM at the Muskego Public Library for the middle school and high school students. Students have been selected to participate in the annual K-12 Muskego Norway Youth Art Month in grades 5-8 from Lake Denoon Middle School. This event is open to all community members.
Building Academic Foundations Class
The 8th grade Building Academic Foundations class is looking for presenters to help learn about a variety of careers. We welcome all careers and would ask you to share some of the following aspects of your career path:
- How your work relates to classes students are taking in school.
- Share any helpful advice that you wish you learned or things you had done in school to be more prepared for your career.
- Share examples of your daily routine that incorporates skills students are learning such as communication, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, writing, etc.
- Talk about your career path and why you chose to pursue it or how you ended up where you are.
- Explain what you like best/least about your job and/or career field.
We are open to in person presentations or virtual presentations. Thanks for your consideration.

Girls Who Code’s Free Virtual Summer Programs
Ready to shape your future and join an empowering sisterhood? Become a coder this summer with Girls Who Code!
Girls Who Code’s free virtual Summer Programs empower you to build skills, community, and a professional network for your future, in the ways that work best for you. Choose your adventure with two free programs:
- Curious to create your own computer games? In our two-week Summer Immersion Program (SIP), you’ll learn how to design your own games using p5.js, a JavaScript library for creative coding. Join classmates and our dedicated Teaching Teams in live virtual classrooms hosted by industry-leading companies like MetLife, Bank of America, Logitech, and Synchrony. We’ve got three rounds to fit your schedule: June 14 to June 28, July 8 to July 19, and July 29 to August 9.
SIP is for current 9th-11th grade girls with beginner or intermediate coding experience, including program alums. Eligible students can even apply for a $300 SIP Student Grant and laptop and hot spot access!
- Excited to explore the biggest topics in tech at your own pace? Our six-week Self-Paced Program offers tracks in Web Development, Cybersecurity, and – new for 2024 – Data Science + AI! From July 1 to August 9, you get to decide how and when to build your coding skills, and you can always ask questions in our Discord server or optional Student Hours.
The Self-Paced Program is for current 9th-12th grade girls and non-binary students with beginner to advanced coding experience, including program alums.
