From the Drama Department:
- Come See "Blithe Spirit" Fri., Dec. 1, at 7pm, Sat., Dec. 2 at 7pm & Sun., Dec. 3 at 3pm
- Blithe Spirit is a classic comedy by Noël Coward.
- Charles Condomine, an accomplished author, invites the eccentric medium/psychic, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. In a curious turn of events, the evening’s farcical venture into then unseen brings back the ghost of his temperamental first wife, Elvira. Charles’s second wife, Ruth - who cannot see or hear the ghost - is less than thrilled by the supernatural circumstances.
- First premiering in 1941 London, and subsequently performed on Broadway, the show was soon to be a classic. Coward adapted the play for film in 1945, starring Rex Harrison and it has enjoyed several other adaptations and revivals since. It’s most recent run on Broadway was in 2009.
- Visit LHSTheatre.org for more information and to purchase tickets online! $10 for Adults. $5 for students.
