General Skills - Visit the Online Learning Resources page which links you to all kinds of age appropriate computer skills pages. Here your child can practice using their mouse/track pad/touch screen; improve their typing skills; and build on their computer coding knowledge.
Specific Skills
Computer Coding
- Kodable.com is a great way to practice computer coding skills. Email Mrs. Welch at kwelch@stgrsd.org to get your child's class code so they can save their work.
- Dance Party - uses block language to learn computer coding. Students will watch videos and follow along as they make characters and try different dance moves, all created through code!
Computer Keyboard - try these websites to practice computer keyboard typing.
- Typingclub.com
- Dance Mat Typing - once on the site, scroll down and click on the hands on the keyboard picture to get started.
Computational Thinking
- Dr. Seuss Invention Engine is a website that gives challenges to develop strategic thinking and problem solving, both are ways of thinking like a computer does. Click on Play Levels first to try different challenges. Then try Free Play to create new challenges.
Music with Mrs. Peirce
Hi friends! I miss seeing you in class, and I hope you are feeling well and staying safe. While you are home, here are some music activities to keep you singing, dancing, listening and creating. Take a picture or video of your chosen activity and send it in an email to kpeirce@stgrsd.org. I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to!
Flipgrid
On Flipgrid, you will find videos of me singing familiar songs and new songs. You can record a response video where you sing the song. If you’d like me to post your video so everyone can see, send me a quick email. If you don’t email, then I will keep your video private.
