The 13th Amendment
The 13th Amendment helped African Americans. It freed them from slavery. It was rattified on December 9, 1865. They rattified it, because people were treating African Americans poorly. It was then illigal all over the U.S..
The 14th Amendment
The 14th Amendment helped all citizens in the U.S.. It entitled all people born or naturalized in the U.S. to equal rights. It was rattifed on July 9, 1868. It was rattifed, because people didn't get the rights they wanted. It was all over the U.S..
The 15th Amendment
The 15th Amendment helped all citizens in the U.S.. It allowed all people to vote no matter race or color. It was rattified on Febuary 3, 1870. It was all over the U.S.. It was rattifed, so people could vote
Black Voter Rights in Mississippi (April 2, 1890)
These rights gave African Americans the right to vote during all elections in Mississippi. It was needed because people in Mississippi made voting very difficult for colored people who wanted to vote.
Cuba Gains Independance from Spain (August, 1898)
The United States of America won the Spanish American War resulting in freedom for Cuba from Spain.
America Gets the Phillipines (August 23, 1899)
The United States of America gained the Phillipines as another result of the American victory in the Spanish American War.
The Zimmerman Telegram (January 16, 1917)
This telegram was a large threat to the United States becuase it was to Mexico telling them to declare war on us. Luckly Before it could rech them it was intercepted and decoded by the british. It is one reason that caused the United States to become involved in World War 1.
The 21st Amendment (1933)
This amendment ended prohibition. This went into effect because most of America had ,by the end of prohibition, knowingly broken the law. This event went into effect everywhere.
Unemployment in America (1929-1941)
By 1932 over a quarter of the nation was unemployed. This was all a result of the stock market crash of 1929.
D-Day (June 6,1944)
This was a large scale battle in which allied forces deployed an amphibious attack on German forces in Norway.
The Holocaust (March 1933 to May 8, 1945)
This was a tragic last resort for the Nazis. It was a example of segrigation on a murderous scale. Millions of people died; most of whom were Jewish.
The Cold War (1945 to 1991)
This was a war based on tension in which no battles or actual phisical fighting occured. The war was mostly threats about nuclear weapons. The world powers fighting in the war were the USA and the USSR. They competed in many things in this was includeing the space race.
Leaf Blower
The leaf blower was invented in the U.S., it was invented in the 1950's by a man with the name of Dom Quinto. The leaf blower made sweeping dust or leaves another generation. Instead of sweeping you could just blow it off quickly!
Cell Phone
The cell phone was invented in Midtown Manhattan. The cell phone was invented in 1973. The cell phone made it easier to be up to date and contact people without a note.
Computer
The first computer was invented in the U.S.. It was invented in 1946. The computer made it easier to be up to date with the world easier.
