Mukilteo Elementary Falcon Spirit
Hello Mukilteo Families,
As you may know we have a very limited parking lot and more families than we have spots for. We have noticed as the weather changes and more people are driving to pick up their students, we are having a very full parking lot with families parking in undesignated parking spots. This has caused cars to not be able to leave the parking lot as well as some cars being hit. This is a safety concern as families are parking in fire lanes. If you are driving to pick up your student, the preferred method would be to use our parent pick up line that comes in from Olympic View Middle School. While the line looks long it goes by very quickly. Here is a picture what this looks like.
CAUTION: PARENT TRAFFIC WILL DRIVE ALONG THE SIDEWALK. USE CAUTION WHEN PASSING PARENT VEHICLES ON THE LEFT, AND BEWARE OF STUDENTS/PARENTS CROSSING PARKING LOT TO PARKED CARS. USE CAUTION ON BLIND CORNER GOING AROUND CLOVER LN.
Parents picking up their student(s) can use the student drop off lane that
is clearly marked along the sidewalk to allow your child to enter the car on the sidewalk
side. As soon as the child enters the car, please proceed out of line and drive out of the
parking lot. Cars following may then move up.
If we could start having families that drive use this method the congestion and parking issues would greatly reduce, and our parking lot would be safer.
Thank you!
