Changes coming in August!
Starting August 5th the Dock children will check in at the top of the stairs at 10 AM. They will get a name tag, that they will wear and the parent will get another name tag with their child's name on it. The children will go downstairs where they will have game time and crafts to start out their Sunday morning. The children will be downstairs for the entire service. When the adult service is over you will come to the check-in station and give the person at the station the name badge of your child. One parent will then be allowed to go downstairs to pick up your child.
Why are we doing this? This is being done for the safety of your children and for our guests. If a guest does not feel that their child is in a safe environment, they will not come back to a church. There will be more on this in the July Newsletter.
Thank you for your support in protecting all of our children.
The children in the Pre School class will also check-in at the same location.

Preschool Parents
In the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth…and it was GOOD! During June, we will continue to learn about creation with your preschooler. This will lay the foundation for other Old Testament stories which we will spend the rest of the summer on. Make sure you ask your child each week what they learned about God’s wonderful creation!
The Kids Dock!
This summer we are taking a break from our basics of the Bible study. Since Mary and I have been here we have covered God, prayer, Praise and Worship and Jesus. Still to come on this journey is The 10 commandments, The Bible, and the Holy Spirit. But that is not for right now. This is a break I have taken every time I have taught my curriculum. We are going to pause to look at Heroes of the faith with a focus on Corrie Ten Boom and her family, John Newton, and Jim Elliot. I have been told by many people what an impression t this section has made on the children and on the people helping us out. This is an exciting time as we look at everyday people who God has used to touch the world!
I have never taught this with the Question format I use in my other lessons. I want to give it a try this time so here are our 10 questions for June!
What is a Hero of the faith? A regular person who obeys God even if it costs them everything.
What kinds of things do heroes of the faith do? God calls us to love our neighbor as our self. So they love their neighbor even if the whole world does not.
Do Heroes of the faith set out to be Heroes? No, they are just following where God leads them.
Do Heroes of the faith have any super powers? No, but God does!
Who is Corry Ten Boom? She is a watchmaker who lived in the Netherlands during World War II.
What did Corrie and her family do during World War II? They hide Jews in their home and helped them escape the Nazi’s.
Why did her family hide Jews? Because the Nazi’s where going to kill the Jews and the Bible says we shall not murder.
What did hiding Jews cost Corrie and her family? Corrie lost her entire family when they were caught.
When Corrie was alone in the concentration camp who was always with her? Jesus
What was the result of Corrie and her family obeying Jesus? Because of her faith in Jesus millions of people heard of the faith of her and her family and became Christians.
Sunday School
For the summer the 3rd - 6th class is closed. We are giving John Wampler some time off. The 3rd and 4th graders will go into the class run by Clare Cartagena and the 5th and 6th graders will go into Steve Coy's class.
