2024-2025 PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens Monday, April 8, 2024. Visit www.humbleisd.net/enrollment for more information.
2024-2025 KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP DATES ANNOUNCED
Humble ISD schools have scheduled open houses or Kindergarten Roundups during the month of April, to help parents learn about the Kindergarten program and registration process. Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024, to qualify for Kindergarten.
MIRACLE LEAGUE BASEBALL SEASON STARTING APRIL 6
YMCA of Greater Houston has joined with the Miracle League to provide families a safe outlet for their children with special needs to experience the joy and benefits that come with being part of a team. Miracle League Baseball is free to participants and open to ages 4 and up. Season starts Saturday, April 6. In-person registration is suggested at the Lake Houston YMCA location.

FIRST ANNUAL AHS MCJROTC AUTO SHOW, APRIL 6
Atascocita High School MCJROTC presents the first annual AHS Auto Show, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Atascocita High School. This event is free to the public and will include silent auctions and raffles, vendor booths, food trucks, live music and awards. Come support the AHS MCJROTC Booster Club and enjoy a day of automotive excellence.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS, APRIL 6
Humble ISD Battle of the Books Competition starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Atascocita High School, 113300 Will Clayton Parkway, Atascocita. This free event will include fun games & activities, food trucks, a book fair, local author visits, raffle and awards.
Schedule of Events include:
- Elementary Competition: 9 a.m.
- Book Fair opens: 9 a.m.
- Student Activity Stations: 10 a.m.
- Food Trucks: 11 a.m.
- Local Author Panel & Signing: Noon
- Middle School Competition 1 p.m.

INSPIRING MOMENTS: TOTAL ECLIPSE ON APRIL 8
On April 8, 2024, a total eclipse will be moving across the United States. In March's “Inspiring Moment,” Jack Fields Elementary student Breyale Daniels provides a special report on the upcoming stellar event. Daniels took time to venture out to the Insperity Observatory, which is on her home campus, and caught up with the Insperity Observatory Director Dr. Aaron Clevenson for more information about how to safely view the total eclipse and much more. HUMBLE ISD ASK AN EXPERT PODCAST - SOLAR ECLIPSE
In episode 9 of Ask an Expert, Dr. Aaron Clevenson, the director of the Insperity Observatory in Humble ISD, discusses the upcoming total solar eclipse that will cross North America on Monday, April 8. He talks about the cause of a solar eclipse, what viewers can anticipate about this phenomenon and how to safely experience this upcoming event.

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE INFORMATION MEETING, APRIL 9
Adventurous? Curious about other cultures? Interested in serving as a Rotary Youth Exchange Ambassador? The Lake Houston Area Rotary Club is hosting two Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) information evening meetings for incoming 7-12 grades students, parents, and any interested teachers and counselors.

KPHS PRESENTS TOO MUCH LIGHT MAKES THE BABY GO BLIND, APRIL 12 & 13
KPark Black Cat JV Theatre presents Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes) April 12 & 13 at the KPHS Black Box Theater. Tickets are $5 for students/ $10 for adults and can be purchased at kparktheatre.ludus.com.

TEACHER, COUNSELOR, NURSE JOB FAIR, APRIL 19
Humble ISD is hosting an invitation only Teacher, Counselor and Nurse (BSN) Job Fair from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway in Humble.
In order to qualify and attend the job fair, you must:
- Complete the Humble ISD online application
- Register online by 5 p.m., April 18

MOTHERS AGAINST CANCER
Mothers Against Cancer, a non-profit made up of volunteers from the Kingwood and Lake Houston area, provides support to families who have been affected with a child diagnosed with cancer. CINCO DE MAYO Childhood Cancer Family Picnic
Mothers Against Cancer is hosting a Childhood Cancer Family Picnic from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, at Sand Creek Village Park, 3021 Timber Shade Drive in Kingwood. There will be food, games, music and art.
HUMBLE ISD BOOTS & BLING GALA, APRIL 26
Get ready to lasso up some excitement for our Boots and Bling Gala! Join us for some axe throwing, bull riding, karaoke, cornhole, and a whole lot of Western fun. Grab your hats and boots, and get ready to hit the dance floor for some boot scootin'.
And the excitement doesn't end there! The highlight of the night is when the top 10 finalists for Humble ISD Teacher of the Year take the stage, and the winners are announced.
Now, this celebration isn't just about fun (although there'll be plenty of that). It's also a chance to support Humble ISD classroom projects. Your participation helps us raise funds to turn innovative classroom dreams into a reality.

DISTRICT TEACHER OF THE YEAR FINALISTS NAMED FOR 2024-2025
Finalists were selected by the District Teacher of the Year Selection Committee based upon written application materials and will interview with the committee. During the Humble ISD Education Foundation Boots & Bling fundraising event on April 26, one of the finalists will be announced as Elementary Teacher of the Year and one will be announced as Secondary Teacher of the Year. WEST LAKE DANCE HOLLYWOOD SPRING SHOW, APRIL 27
The West Lake Dance Department invites the community to a Hollywood Spring Show, a fundraiser benefiting the West Lake Luminaires dance team, at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 27 at West Lake Middle School. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online. There will be concessions for sale at the door.

FOSTER ELEMENTARY COMMEMORATIVE ORNAMENTS, ORDER BY APRIL 30
Foster Elementary commemorative ornaments are available online to purchase now through April 30. The original artwork, created by Foster Elementary art teacher Julie Gallow, features the bulldog mural and the front of the 53 year old campus.
Foster Elementary is set to be rebuilt over the next two years and be ready to reopen for the 2026-2027 school year with a brand new building in its current location.

Humble ISD is reinvesting in the community by adding immersive, imaginatively-themed playgrounds at all elementary schools, and outdoor obstacle and fitness courses at secondary schools. Outdoor equipment is open to the public on elementary and middle school campuses when school is not in session. All are built on handicap-accessible, poured-in-place rubber surfaces, with fall protection.
