Returning Student Registration
Please register your students for the upcoming school year in Skyward! We have streamlined the process so it is all online now! Proof of residency is all verified by Clear (residency verification service). If we have any issues or require more proof the Admin Assistant form one of the three schools will contact you. There are also NO FEES for the next upcoming school year!! We would love to get head counts for class sizes next year so please fill out the skyward portion by no later than May 1st. If you get your registration in before May 1st your child will get a free spirit wear shirt!! If you have any questions, contact Kate Beckwith.
On Monday, April 8th our are will experience a total solar eclipse. While we will not experience totality (100% coverage of the sun), our area is expected to get about 90% sun coverage. Here is our plan for the solar eclipse!
- Students will receive a lesson about solar eclipses during their science class. The lesson also teaches about eye safety during solar eclipses.
- Around 2:00, all AMS students will head outside to view the eclipse
- We have special eclipse viewing glasses for all students and staff
- Students MUST wear the safety glasses or they will be asked to return inside
- If you wish for your child to remain inside during the solar eclipse, please email Heidi Hummel (hhummel@saltcreek48.org) to request your child remain inside
Spotlight on Albright Middle School
On Thursday, March 21st, Dr. Aulisa and Mrs. Hummel shared Albright's Spotlight with the D48 School Board. The focus of this presentation started with celebrating Music Appreciation Month by honoring our band and orchestra programs and students. We then presented Albright's 2023-24 updates and shared this slideshow: https://5il.co/2h1n5.
We proudly shared our updates with everyone while honoring our students and staff, and we hope you take a look at our progress. Thank you to the many parents, students, and staff who joined us tonight!

Health Requirements and Sport Physicals
Sports Physicals
Students Participating in Sports (5th-8th grade) If your child will be trying out for any sport (including intramural), they must have an IHSA Pre-Participation Examination (“Sports Physical”) on file prior to tryouts. Sports physicals are valid for 1 year and must be current throughout the entire sports season that your child is planning to participate in. 6 th graders may use their Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination in lieu of a sports physical, however a sports physical CANNOT be used in lieu of the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination requirement.
**Religious/Medical Exemptions: If your child does not receive immunizations for religious reasons, a parent and healthcare provider must complete the “Illinois Certificate of Religious Exemption to Required Immunizations and/or Examinations” form prior to the first day of school. This form may not be used for personal or philosophical reasons, as Illinois does not allow such exemptions.
