Mighty Tritons
Just the facts. Please be mindful of the following:
A. Department Chairs. I realize that I may have left the impression that I want to create a common prep for future DCs so that I may meet with them and ask them to take on additional work. I apologize for the misunderstanding. My intention is for teacher leadership to have a voice when they needed to meet with me as a group. There will be no additional work assigned and at this point, we will not consider the mutual prep. Please let me know if you have any concerns on this issue. We hope many of you will consider this great leadership opportunity.
B. Common Syllabus. I have vetted the concept of the common syllabus with each department. In speaking with the FAC and DC representatives, a deadline of May 31st was set to complete this important work. We are interested in promoting equity. I realize how challenging this task might be. I have provided you with a revised template. I believe in your professionalism and I know that you will create a strong syllabus for your department that will foster stronger PLC work and a focus on equitable practices.
C. Assigned Parking. Please be mindful of parking in the Cafeteria Manager's assigned parking spot. Often, she will have to leave campus to pick up materials and transport it to our site.
D. Counselor Availability. There will be limited availability of counselors next week as they will be finishing the six-year plan as well as conducting incoming 7th grade presentation at the feeder schools.
E. FAC. Please let your representatives know of any pressing instructional issues for the FAC meeting next Tuesday.
Don't forget to check out the AP section about Disneyland and Sea World tickets.

Enthusiasm (Triton Trait of the Month!)
Enthusiasm is putting your whole heart into what you do. Whatever the task, no matter how big or small, it will always turn out better if you put your whole heart into it! A great thing about enthusiasm is that it's contagious! Your spark of energy and excitement can ignite others to live their lives with enthusiasm.
Its also important to remember that enthusiasm is be more than just showing energy and excitement. It is also represented by a passion for a cause or project. One does not have to be the life of the party to build enthusiasm. By treating even the smallest, insignificant jobs as important, paying attention to details even when the newness wears off, and aiming to be an encourager to others, we build relationships and share enthusiasm with everyone around us.
In the weeks to come, be sure to nominate students for Triton of the Week who exemplify these traits of Enthusiasm.
