Stoller Chess Team
Congratulations to Kyle Liu, Roshen Nair, Kushal Pai, Fedya Semenov, Egan Wong, and Arnold Yang who won first place in the 2018 Oregon State Chess Team Championship (in the middle school section) conducted by "Chess For Success".

AVID Applications
Last reminder...
Is your child interested in joining the AVID elective class next year? This class focuses on building: organizational skills, study habits, self-advocacy skills, community building, leadership skills, college readiness skills, and collaboration. To join, your child must apply. Students can get an application form in the main office or from their counselor. Applications must be turned in to your advisory teacher or counselor by March 23rd.

Academic Club
This Club is done meeting until after Spring Break. The next meeting date will be Tuesday, April 3rd.
Badminton Club
It is time to sign up for Session 6 of the Badminton Club. The sixth session starts April 9th and the cost is $35. Detailed information about the dates and times may be found on the Badminton registration form (also available in the attendance office). Please note that the Badminton Club has a Monday/Wednesday and a Tuesday/Thursday section. You may also pay online. Step-by-step directions for how to pay online are available here. Please note if you pay online you must still turn your registration form into the attendance office. Payments may also be made with check or cash.
Soccer Club
This Club is done meeting until after Spring Break. The next meeting date will be Thursday, April 5th.

Recycled Water Art & Poetry Contest
Contest theme: Why is Reusing Water Valuable? Art & Poetry must be related to the theme of recycled water (also known as reclaimed and reuse water). Recycled water is water that has already been used by people, is highly treated, and is then reused for a number of different purposes such as irrigation for plants, parks and athletic fields, decorative fountains, industrial uses, groundwater recharge, and more.
This contest is open to students in grades K-12 in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Art & Poetry submissions must be received by Friday, March 30, 2018 to be eligible.

14th Annual Student Art Calendar Contest
The 14th Annual Student Art Calendar contest is officially underway. The theme this year is "What on Earth Can We Do?"
The contest is open to all K-12 BSD students and the contest guidelines and entry form can be found on the Energy & Resource Conservation web site here.
The contest deadline is April 12, 2018. All entries should be sent by inter-school mail to Sue Shade c/o Maintenance Services.
Canvas for Parents - Update
There have recently been updates to how parents create an account in Canvas. This should not affect parents who already have accounts set up in Canvas. This new process allows parents to set up their account using the email they use for ParentVUE and it will already have their students linked to their account.

Health Instructional Materials Review
Last reminder...
The Beaverton School District is currently involved in the Health Instructional Materials Adoption process K-12. The Project Team, comprised of community members, students, teachers, administrators and specialists has been meeting since September 2017 to review existing Health curriculum and practices in order to make curriculum and adoption recommendations to the School Board this Spring.
The Beaverton School District reviews and updates its curriculum, instructional practices, and classroom materials according to Board policy and Oregon State Statute and Administrative Regulations.
The community, parents, students, and Beaverton School District staff are invited to review and provide input on instructional materials in the following ways:

Lost and Found
Is your child missing clothing items? A lunch box or water bottle? A backpack? Please check out the Lost and Found, located in the hallway across from the Art rooms. Any items left behind are scheduled to be picked up by Beaverton Clothes Closet on the following dates - March 23rd, May 1st, May 29th and June 20th.
