Principal's Paragraph
Dear Garfield Families,
As we embrace the vibrant month of May, I am thrilled to share with you the latest updates and upcoming events from our school community.
First and foremost, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the unwavering support and collaboration of our students, families, and staff throughout this school year. Your dedication to the success and well-being of our students is truly commendable and it is this partnership that makes our school such a special place.
As we approach the final stretch of the academic year, I am pleased to report that our students continue to excel both academically and socially. Their resilience and determination serve as a testament to their commitment to learning, and I couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments. For those students who took MCA tests, their individual scores will be available on ParentVue soon. The overall school scores will not be available for a few months but you will be able to see how your child individually did.
In the spirit of continued growth and learning, I am excited to announce several upcoming events. Please make sure to continue watching the school calendar to stay updated on events. Between Biz-town, Safety day, Water Festival, track and field days and many other events, May is going to be a busy month! Please check frequently for any changes or announcements.
Additionally, I am delighted to invite you to join us for our annual GMC Showcase on May 9th. This highly anticipated event will showcase the incredible talents of our students in music, art, and performance. It promises to be an evening filled with creativity, inspiration, and community spirit, and I encourage all families to attend and show their support for our budding artists and musicians.
As we celebrate the achievements of our students, I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude to our dedicated teachers, staff, and parent volunteers. The week of May 6th starts Teacher Appreciation Week. We have phenomenal staff in all of district 206 but the staff at the GMC buildings are top notch. When students join our buildings, they become more than just a student, they become part of our GMC family and that is thanks to the amazing teaching staff we have. Please take some time over this month of May to reach out and thank our staff members for doing so much for our most precious resource.
In closing, I want to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. Together, we will continue to inspire excellence, foster a love of learning, and create a bright future for our students.
Warm regards,
Troy Wunderlich
Principal
