TAC Students Meet with the Students of the Village School
With its mission of raising community leaders for 134 years, Tarsus American College promotes service thinking in students from a very early age. Our students, who are mindful of their social responsibilities, grow as successful leaders for the future. The history of community services at Tarsus American College dates back to the school’s establishment.
TAC believes in the important need of raising well-balanced individuals who are skilled, educated, respectful of others’ rights, who believe in serving the country and humanity towards protecting the rights of today’s and future generations and to improve the country and humanity. To this end, it promotes voluntary activities which provide benefits for their community.
Community service activities at TAC are growing and being restructured according to the needs of the school over the year.
Our students organized the first one of the "Village School Visits", which are scheduled for every Saturday morning this year, on October 15th. In addition to the book reading activity to support the reading habit of the young students of the village school, they also involved the host students in various educational activities.
TAC is proud of its student volunteers, who will continue to touch lives through many more community service projects for the rest of the year.
TAC IB CAS students explore the mystical history of Tarsus through as trash collectors.
TAC IB CAS students continue to show their awareness towards their immediate environment through collecting trash in Gözlükule Mount and Excavation Area.
IB CAS students explored the mystical 9000 year old history of Tarsus through an impressive lecture by the head of Bogazici University History Department Professor Aslı Ozyar and Dr. Paolo Maranzana. Students have been extensively informed about the excavation area and its 22-year history.
Collecting trash has been redefined in students' minds this year after Prof. Özyar explained the place of archaeology in global contexts. She has deepened the meaning of “trash collecting” and has explained how trash turns into science. The students have been assigned to explore the trash as a concept and to establish the link between fantasy and reality.
We would like to thank our students and the teacher for their endless effort to raise awareness about the environment they live in.
Traditional Oktoberfest Celebrations
The 13th annual celebration of Oktoberfest took place on October 19, 2022 on TAC campus.
The event started with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Munise Aksöz, Head of German Language Education at Çukurova University on "The Advantages of Speaking a Foreign Language and German".
The main purpose of the event, which lasted all week, was to provide students with opportunities to practice their German skills, as well as introducing them to different cultures.
TAC thanks the second foreign language department for contributing to students’ having fun while learning German through different games.
We congratulate all TAC graduates who have been placed in the universities of their choice based on 2022 IB scores.
