Wildcat Weekly 3/4-3/8
Proud Principal of Pomerado Elementary School
Hi Wildcats!
We hope you can join us for Multicultural Night this Friday, March 8th from 5:30-7pm in the MPR. Our wonderful Wildcat community has prepared presentations, food, and learning activities about many countries and cultures.
Friday Ice Cream sales are back! 5th grade boosters will be selling $1 and $2 ice cream treats on Fridays from now until the end of May. As a reminder, we are a closed campus so parents are not permitted on campus to participate in ice cream Fridays. If you would like to volunteer to help with ice cream sales, please contact Alisha Thomson at athomson@powayusd.com.
We are looking forward to another fun week at Pomerado!
Thanks,
Mrs. Julie Goldberg
Paper Drive
We are getting low on copy paper and are hosting a paper drive through the month of March. If you would like to participate, we would appreciate donations of white copy paper.
Donations can be dropped off in the front office. We appreciate your support!
2024-2025 Continuing Student Registration is open! π«
Online Continuing Student Registration will be open from March 1- March 31, 2024. We must receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the 2024-2025 school year. This annual digital process allows a family to complete one single βfamilyβ packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
Continuing Registration Steps:
Login and complete the digital registration packet via the online registration portal found here.
Review and complete any required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered finalized until this step is completed.
Please note: MEDICATION FORMS or ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR.

Counseling with Ms. Yearing
In our fast paced world, adults can be quick to step-in, direct or problem-solve for our children for a variety of reasons. However, children can only learn how to problem-solve if we give them the opportunity to practice...NOT solve things for them. Our children are so much more capable than we give them credit. Also, one of the best reasons to cultivate this skill is each time a child problem-solves through an obstacle or challenge, they are much more likely to follow-through and take ownership of that situation. Then the real growth happens... building true self-worth.
This month, I invite you to see every problem, big or small, as an opportunity for growth for you and your child, to help your child become a better problem-solver.
