Skype Session with Rob Buyea on Sept. 8th
The 4th-6th grade students have the opportunity to Skype with Golden Sower award-winning author Rob Buyea on September 8th. The Skype session will begin at 11 a.m., and the schedule will be adjusted for the day. September 8th also happens to be International Literacy Day. The reading classes are currently reading his first book as a read aloud in class in preparation for the Skype session. If you want to know more about Rob Buyea and his books, visit www.robbuyea.com.
Bobcat Book Club Groups
Nearly 30 students attended this week's first book club meeting. Wow! Three groups were created, and the groups will meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday respectively (during noon recess).

National Book Festival
On September 5th, authors will be gathering in Washington, D.C. to discuss various books/genres. These author conversations will be broadcast on PBS.
Special Note: Kate DiCamillo will be featured at 12:30. (Fourth grade students read a couple of DiCamillo's books last year.)
