Washington - Caldwell Parent Update
Week of April 15, 2024
Message from our Principal
Hello Bulldog Families,
We began Forward Exam testing this week with grades 3 through 8. We have gotten off to a good start and students have been focusing on doing their best. The Forward Exam is a State of Wisconsin mandated test that provides information about what students know and can do related to the Wisconsin Academic Standards. The results of the Forward Exam determine our score on the State Accountability Report Card. The results also give us data to examine that identifies points of strength and areas for improvement. Knowing this is such an important test for our district and school, we ask for your help in supporting your child to do his/her best as we continue testing into next week.
You can find our 2022-23 State Accountability Report Card on our website @ www.washcald.com.
The Strategic Planning Committee plays an integral role in actuating our school vision and mission. Most recently, the SPC was instrumental in the messaging and support of the operating referendum. The committee includes staff, parents and community members who work together to share ideas, develop plans and implement strategies to achieve the short-term and long-term goals of Washington-Caldwell. After a short beak in our meeting schedule, we are resuming the work of the SPC. We will be scheduling our next meeting for Tuesday, April 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m here at Washington-Caldwell. We are inviting you to attend to become part of the SPC, or simply provide your input on the development of our 5 year Strategic Plan. If you would like to be part of this committee, please contact me directly.
I have reserved office hours each week to meet with parents to discuss school improvement ideas, concerns or to simply meet with you to increase parent engagement throughout the year. Office hours are on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. You may also contact me via email at kmccormick@washcald.com, or by phone at 262-662-3466, Ext. 166.
Sincerely,
Kevin
Superintendent/Principal
