Alan Turing
Alans life explained
Who Was Alan Turing?
Alan Turing was a mathematician and logician, he made the first computer and because of that started most of the computer like technology. During the Second World War he worked for the government breaking the codes the enigma made for Germany. Churchill said he shortened the war by two years.

What Was The Enigma?
the enigma was the machine Germany used to send out messages about planning the attacks, but the machine mixed up the letters so England couldn't crack the codes or listen to them. there was 150,000,000,000 outcomes for each letter, making it impossible to know when the germans would attack and causing the germans to start winning the war. And Alan Turing cracked it.
The Bombe
the bombe was an electro-mechanical machine, developed during WWII by Alan Turing and Gordon Welchman, whilst working as codebreakers at Bletchley Park. It was used to help breaking the German Enigma codes and was (partly) based on the so-called BOMBA, an earlier machine developed by Polish mathematicians in 1938. From 1943 onwards, an improved version of the 4-shell BOMBE was built in the US by the US Navy and, separately, by the US Army.
