UP Professional Trades Hiring Event and Career Day at the Sault EDC
On April 26 following the hiring event, the UP Construction Council will facilitate a Professional Trades Career Day for high school students. This event will offer students a chance to learn about apprenticeship and career opportunities in a hands-on format. We are currently working with school districts to schedule groups of students for this event.

Family Engineering Workshop:
If you are interested in learning more about how to host a Family Engineering event at your school, please fill out this form to indicate your interest and preferences for workshop dates and times. If we have enough interest in the EUP, we will coordinate with MSU extension and Michigan Tech to run a workshop that would teach you how to run an event. We also have all of the equipment for this event in the REMC22 Lending Library and can connect you with funding that can help you to host your event. Cereal City Science Professional Learning page: Grades 3-5 cohort opportunity!
- Each school can now register online. EUP teachers can register and should include their school’s information under “Billing Information”. The EUP MiSTEM Region will coordinate with Cereal City to pay for registrations for any EUP school districts and your school will not receive an invoice.
- EUP MiSTEM Region will cover the registration and will offer $100 stipends to teachers who attend all three after school sessions for each cohort. Contact Kevin St. Onge (kevins@eupschools.org) if interested.
Computer Science:
- Statewide CS PLN- Monthly meetings for supporting CS education in K-12
- Elementary PD for teachers- Free virtual workshops with SCECHs and Stipends through MiSTEM grant!
- Middle School and High School PD for teachers- Free virtual or face-to-face summer workshops with SCECHs and Stipends through MiSTEM grant!
3-P Agriculture Workshops at the Chatham Research Farm and Waishkey Bay Farm:
- Two days at each site this summer. Registrants can go to one of the farm workshops or both sites. Limited to the first 20 registrants.

Invading Classrooms 3-P Education Project - Invasive Species with CFRE:
For teachers wishing to learn more about the Invading Classrooms 3-P education project (see attached flyer), an informational webinar is scheduled for March 9 from 4-5pm to provide an overview of this project and an opportunity for Q&A. This informational webinar will be recorded but if attending live you'll get a chance for Q&A with PD co-facilitators Jesse & Beth.
