Home and School Connection, Week of April 6-10
A Note from Mrs. Buckels
I hope you have had a successful second week of distance learning. It seems like it should be week 4 or 5! I hope your family has been able to settle into a routine with the distance learning. The district realized that two learning goals a week in reading and math was a lot. You will see some changes for next week. There will be one learning goal per subject. We are also adding a to do list to help you know what should be submitted(if you are able to submit the work). Reading and math should take about an hour each and science/social studies about 15-20 minutes (for the week). We know that it may take some students less/more time to complete but this was the goal in preparing the lessons.
We know that every student's situation is unique. Some students have to share devices with working parents and other siblings, some students only have access to a cell phone and some do not have devices or internet. All we ask of you is to do the best you can with online learning. We do not want online learning to cause stress for your family. Please continue to reach out to your teachers and me with any concerns or questions you may have.
Next week's work will be available on it's Learning on Monday morning. Don't forget to check out the other courses that your child has access to-PE, Art, Music, Library and our Parr page.
In this S'more, you will find videos for each day of the week with the morning announcements if you would like to start your student's day with these. You can access them from this S'more or from our Parr it's learning page.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or me with any questions you may have. Also, our technology department has a helpline that is now available for any issues you may be having! The number is 281-284-0500. They are available M-F from 8:00-4:00.
Yearbook Information
Parr Patriots - we miss you and can't wait to see you back at school! In the meantime, we want you to know that we have been hard at work to make an amazing yearbook packed with all the awesome things that we have done this year!
We have extended the deadline for 2 more weeks - during this time you can still purchase your yearbook, make customized pages (it comes with 2 free pages and more can be added at 2 pages for $0.99) and 5th grade parents you can still do your 5th grader's dedication! The extended deadline is APRIL 16TH!
Please see the attachments below for step by step instructions for setting up your pages. Treering has a cool feature where all your friends, classmates and teachers can digitally sign your yearbook! You can request for their signature and it gets added to your custom pages!
