We have so many reasons to celebrate students and achievement as we approach the final few weeks of the 2018-19 School Year. The support of parents, family, friends, and the community show children that everyone values their education. In the coming weeks, our Fifth Graders will reach an educational milestone and will be recognized during their Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony.
This week was the final week of PARCC testing for our school with only a few make ups to offer. Students did an outstanding job and we appreciate the work of our entire school community. We have our spring concert coming up the week of June 3rd, when our Chorus , Band, and Strings students will put on performances sure to to be a hit!
Please check student folders for information on how they can participate in the Kids Heart Challenge! They had a blast with 3D glasses and learning about all the important reasons to support heart health at the Kids Heart Challenge Assembly on Friday.
In addition to finishing strong academically, we are excited about the fun events that the end of the year brings. Field Day, field trips, and picnics, to name a few, are memorable events in the waning days of the school year. We hope you can join us and experience the exciting events that make elementary school so special.
Birthday Recognitions
In our school community, we have students with food allergies and other medical needs that require healthy options. Please take a moment to provide your input as we look at ways to hi-lite student birthdays. At LES, we strongly support and encourage the recognition of a child’s birthday during the school day. It is an annual milestone in every child’s life that should be celebrated not just at home, but in school as well, where children spend one-third of their day with teachers, classmates, and peers. Your input is valued and appreciated. Please provide feedback by Tuesday, May 28th. Thank you!
