Principal's Message
Greetings Elm Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful week. We have a busy week on the horizon with two field trips, spirit week, and Halloween Celebrations. Show us what you've got Elm Middle School; bring the spirit! This Principal will certainly be rocking Pajamas on Monday!
Parent teacher conferences are on November 2nd and November 3rd, and we're excited to welcome all of our Elm families to meet with our staff. For more information on scheduling conferences take a look at this link.
Picture day was Monday and there will be a Picture Day retake day on October 31st. Please take a moment and look at jostenspix.com and our school code is FE110022 for ordering of photos.
As a reminder we have two field trips this coming week on October 25th and October 27th. A field trip form is required for the each of these trips; forms were sent home this week. All students must have a form signed and returned in order to attend. Thank you!
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a fabulous weekend, enjoy the beautiful weather! #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld
Assistant Principal's Corner - Authentic Products of Learning
This week, I was able to pop in to several classes at Elm that were working on project-based learning assessments, and I was nothing short of impressed with the level of creativity and ingenuity our teachers put forth to address the various learning styles of our diverse student population. Parents, your learners are given many opportunities throughout the week to explore new skills and to develop authentic products of learning.
Our teachers work tirelessly to develop learning activities that allow for social and emotional development, metacognitive awareness, and problem solving. Further, students work on developing appropriate collaboration techniques and soft skills in the process.
