Jots from Mrs. Jimison December 3-7, 2018
Ready for Some Fun?!?
But, instead of shouting, come listen to our fabulous kids SING their hearts out to the Lord in celebration at our Christmas musical Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 PM. Parents, please read your teacher(s) newsletter for the time your child will need to arrive. I know you will be blessed! Bring along friends and family! Reminder - this is a great time to introduce new families to the school. For each new family that you bring to the school, you get a $750 discount after one year of new attendance. For more information, please contact the school office. Make sure the family writes your name on the application form as a referral when they send in the application.
- K, 1st, and 2nd graders: Dressy "Christmas" clothes that meet school dress code. Girls, no pants please.
- 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders: A Christmas-y shirt/top with plain black pants. No jeans, sweatshirts or sweaters. Remember that the gym gets very warm. All clothes must meet school dress code.
- If your student has a special "costume" need, a separate letter will be sent home, so be on the lookout!
- 3rd-6th will also need to wear these same clothes for their dress rehearsal on Wed morning of that week, Dec 5th.
Thank you so much! We look forward to seeing you on Dec 6th!
*Extended Care ends at 5pm this evening*
We are looking forward to more fun December 18-21 with school spirit days!
Tuesday (18th) : Wear your favorite Christmas socks
Wednesday (19th): Wear a flannel shirt and stocking cap
Thursday (20th): Wear pajamas or sweatpants (no slippers, modest, appropriate for the weather, no shorts or skinny straps, bring a book to read and small pillow)
Friday (21st): wear your favorite Christmas sweater
6th Grade Givers!
ATS coming to the elementary!
ATS summer courses are specifically desired for two age groups: grades 4 and 5 and grades 6 through 9. Current 4th and 5th graders can explore hands-on classes designed to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills while engaging with other students who share their enthusiasm for learning. Current 6th through 9th graders can accelerate their learning in traditional subjects and discover college majors and potential career paths as they gain self-confidence and independence in a university environment. ATS students have access to university facilities like the library, student union, and campus eateries.
To join, students take an exam that automatically qualifies them for the program. No test preparation is required since it is not a "pass or fail" exam. Victory Christian School will be offering the ATS exam on January 16 at 3:15 PM. Information was sent home last week with 4-6th grade students. For more information, please contact Mrs. Jimison or visit the ATS website at http://www.csus.edu/coe/ats .
If you want your child to participate, please contact Mrs. Jimison by email or call Melissa in the school office before December 16. That is our cut-off date for signing up for the test. Thanks!
