What is a Stem Cell? Where do they come from? How can they help?
Stem cells are unspecialized cells that different cells are made from. There are two types of stem cells, embryonic and adult. Embryonic stem cells are found in the embryo and are pluripotent, meaning they can develop into almost any of the body's cell types. Adult stem cells are groups of cells that renew and replace themselves in the human body. They're also multipotent, meaning they can develop into many types of differentiated cells. Stem cells have the ability to develop into any of the cells in a human body which may help cure diseases such as diabetes.
