We have implemented a peer to peer group called Rachel's Challenge, that will begin in October. We also have implemented TRAILS lessons once a month during Golden Eagle hour.
Rachel's Challenge
We are meeting once a month promoting positivity and kindness throughout the school, we will begin doing lunch activities during all lunches next week. This month we will be creating a "chain reaction" where students are able to write positive things they have seen throughout our school, or had happen to them. We will connect these chains to make one large chain, this will be a continued activity throughout the school year.
Coffee With The Counselor
Coffee With The Counselor will happen 4 times a year and we have different topics that will be discussed at each session. The first meeting is December 14, and the topic is Social Media and Cell Phone use.

Happy February!
We have some exciting events coming up this month!
**Next week, February 7-9, We have "Okay to Say" virtual assemblies for our 4-6 grade students.
**Throughout February, We will have Hands Only CPR training and STEP Up training for all of our 5th and 6th grade students. Our CPR training is organized by our school nurse, Lyza Vlcek. The STEP UP program is provided through a grant for all 5th grade students and we had enough supplies to also offer it to our 6th grade students as well. They will learn what to do if there is an emergency at home or school. They also receive a bag with some items that would be helpful in an emergency.
**We will be giving our 5th and 6th grade students the Student Questionnaire again this month. The students first took it in the fall and they will take it one more time at the end of the year as well. Our 7th and 8th grade students take a similar questionnaire, although ours is modified to make it age level appropriate. It covers various topics from academics to feelings.
**We are looking for volunteers who would willing and able to present at our Elementarys' In Person Career Days on Friday, April 28th. Forms are being sent home today.
**We are starting our Healthy Movement" class next Wednesday, February 8th. It is twice a month and each session has a different healthy movement (ie-weight lifting, Zumba, Yoga, etc.) Forms went home a couple of weeks ago. We have forms in the office-It is not too late to sign up!
I look forward to working with the students in different aspects of mental/physical health.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns -krista.schatzle@myeagles.org or 592-2181.
