God Bless Our Newly Confirmed!
On Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27, Holy Family Parish confirmed 25 teenagers as they received the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation.
During these difficult times, we are most grateful for celebrations like these! Thank you to parents and families for their spiritual support in guiding and teaching your children in receiving the sacraments. We are also truly appreciative of their teacher, Ms. Natalie Borisovets, and all of our catechists for their inspiration and planning in teaching our children. After two years of preparation, plus additional sessions of study, Holy Family Parish is most proud of our children who received their Confirmation last weekend!
Mass Readings for Sunday, March 7: Third Sunday of Lent
In John's Gospel this weekend, we listen to the story of how Jesus Cleansed the Temple. As He enters into the temple in Jerusalem to pray, Jesus was not satisfied with the respect the people were showing in the Temple. This was a sacred place where God is present. All should be in touch with Him there, showing respect to Him and talking to Him. So when Jesus came into the Temple, he cleansed the area.
Jesus told all of the workers and shoppers, “Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father’s house a marketplace!” The people were in shock. Who was this guy? Why did it matter what He thought?
Jesus knew more than anyone the power and importance of a sacrifice. He was about to be a sacrifice Himself, and He didn’t want His sacrifice to be meaningless like these marketplace sacrifices were. He knew His sacrifice was to mean so much more.
Jesus knew that he was the real temple of God – the Lord being fully present in him. He deserved greater attention than this sacred building. He was aware too that, if H were humanly killed, He would rise from the dead. The temple of His body was indestructible.
Activities for Family
Cleansing our Minds for Christ
Just as Jesus cleared the temple of negative acts, we practice mindful and positive ways to follow in Christ.

BACK - "TAKE OUT THE TRASH-CLEAN GOD'S TEMPLE!"
- Decorate the second paper plate with dark decorations and draw a trash can.

- Use strips of colored paper to write practices and distractions to following Jesus and our faith (for example: lies, being hurtful to others, not being nice to your brother or sister, etc.)
- Attached the strips of colored paper to the top of the paper bag. Attached the paper bag to the paper plate.
