Ronald McDonald House Houston's 10th Annual Trafigura Run for the House is December 7th, 2019
GR is forming our first teen-led team. The Texas Medical Center is home to 21 world-renowned hospitals and is the largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions in the world. It serves over 7.2 million patients each year and many families come from all over the globe to get the best medical care for their children. The Ronald McDonald House Houston provides a home away from home for these families, and is very special to my own family as the House in Michigan provided a home away from home for my mom when I was diagnosed with severe congenital heart disease before I was born and received a heart transplant at 19 days old. Join me, Josh Loya, on team “Got Heart?” and help raise money for this worthy cause. Please see the flyer below and my fundraising website for details on how you can support my team and benefit this very worthy cause that helps to save so many lives. Students, staff, and parents are all welcome to join my team and make donations at the link below: https://trafigurarunforthehouse.itsyourrace.com/donate/team/GotHeart

Need to Leave Early? Here's The Protocol!
Email Mrs. Duran for passes. iduran@lcisd.org
- All emails for a student’s early release must be 2 hours in advance of the time the student is leaving campus.
- A students must be a GRHS registered driver in order to leave campus. All others have to be signed out and picked up by an adult on Skyward's emergency contact list.
- Only siblings can leave campus together. Students can NOT leave with friends.
- No emails would be processed after 1:30 pm.
- No student check out (even by an adult that is listed on the emergency contact list) after 3:10 PM daily.
MANDATORY LANYARDS & DRESS CODE EXPECTATIONS!
- Lanyards/ID's are now mandatory to be worn from 8:15-3:30 every day. If your child does not have an ID (visible on the top half of their body) they will not be allowed to use their personal technology device at all during the day or leave the classroom for any reason (unless it is an emergency) If they refuse to adhere to the expectation then non-compliance consequences will be issued through a referral. Consequences include, devices being collected and brought to supervising administrator, lunch detention, and ISS if this is repetitive. This policy is a safety protocol that has been in place since the second week of school, so they have had plenty of time to adjust. They are reminded daily on announcements by me personally. If your child needs a new ID they can purchase one in the library for $5 from 7:45-8:10 am and during lunches (with approval and a pass from an administrator in the cafe). Help us by having them take it out and show you. I will say about 2/3rds of our campus is wearing theirs, so I appreciate them helping us out by demonstrating responsibility and showing respectfulness by following the rule. Of the remaining half, 90% of them have it with them in their backpack, they just need to wear it. This is easy, we just need a little push on the home front if you would be so kind and help us make this expectation a habit.
- Dress Code Expectations are in effect (this has been much better, but we are still monitoring it closely). Any student that is out of dress code will be sent to their administrator to change. If they refuse, they will be issued ISS for the day.
