Principal's Note
Greeting parents,
As we approach the STAAR test, please encourage your child to focus on reviewing key concepts, formulas, or vocabulary that you've learned throughout the year, reinforcing what they already know. Prioritize getting a good night's sleep, aiming for 7-9 hours to ensure their brain is rested and ready to function optimally. Engage in relaxation activities to ease any test-related anxiety, whether it's reading a book, taking a bath, or practicing deep breathing exercises and eating a balanced meal. Visualize success by imagining yourself confidently entering the test room, answering questions with ease, and feeling proud of your performance, which can help boost confidence and reduce anxiety. We encourage them to establish a bedtime routine that signals to their body it's time to wind down, whether it's listening to soothing music, dimming the lights, or practicing mindfulness.
Remember that their performance on the state test is just one measure of their academic progress. Regardless of the outcome, know that they are capable, resilient, and worthy of success. Please encourage them to trust in your abilities, do their best, and remember that we are here to support them every step of the way.
Wishing our students all the best for the test days ahead!
Spotlight
Three esteemed judges provided immediate feedback and scores, contributing to the enriching experience. We are delighted to report that the majority of our students received top marks, earning a I or a II rating, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our directors for orchestrating a well-planned day, and we offer a special thank you to campus secretary Paula Aguilar and 7th-grade science teacher Sabrina Moralez for their invaluable support in preparing and operating the concession stand.
With the success of this event, we aspire to establish it as a cherished tradition and aim to expand it into a larger, more prominent occasion in the future.
