Please remember that we have new school hours this year and they are from 8:30 AM to 3:10 PM. We will still have our monthly early release days for School Improvement which we will release students two hours early at 1:10 PM. Please have your child out 5-10 minutes before the scheduled bus pickup time to help drivers adjust to the new routes and times as well.
We have partnered with Learning Resources INC in Vernon Hills, IL this year to help us in ensuring that all of our students have everything they need from our annual school supply list. Every student will have everything from the school supply list already at the school packed in individual backpacks before they even return to the building. Thank you to Learning Resources INC for your support to our community and preparing our students for another successful year at Newport Elementary School. We look forward to meeting with all of you during our Open House, which is on Tuesday, August 16, from 4:00-5:30 PM. Our PTO will be ready to greet you as well with some treats and some fun in front of the school.
Class lists will be accessible soon through the Parent Portal for PowerSchool, where you can also view your child's bus information. If you have any further questions, you can call the front office for assistance.
Kindergarten will have a special, shortened, first day. Detailed information will be sent out to those families. Bring your cameras to commemorate the occasion.
We are happy to announce that we are returning to school with limited restrictions for our students and will be able to go back to learning without masks. We will monitor the situation and be ready to adjust, but at this time, students and teachers are not required to wear masks, or distance themselves inside the building. We are ready to engage in learning and working with one another.

Beach Park District #3 Elementary Student Handbook
It is very important that you review the updated BPD3 Handbook for this school year. You will need to sign off on the information contained within and understand how Remote Learning Days have replaced the Snow Days, of old.
You will also need to acknowledge that you understand when you should keep your child home from school if they are exhibiting any symptoms, as stated by the CDC and IDH. We will continue following protocols to best protect all of our students and staff. If a student/staff members is exhibiting any of the COVID-related symptoms, they will not be allowed to participate in the school day and be asked to stay home, or be sent home if they have already started their day.
