Homecoming 2019 CanJam Rules and Daily Drives
It's time for our 4th Annual Homecoming Food Drive!! We are again having classes compete for points toward winning the spirit stick in a food drive during homecoming week. For the past three years, our students have collected over 5 tons of non-perishable food, water and toiletries to donate to local charities.
In CanJam, classes compete against each other to fill the bin of other classes with non-perishable food items. The class with the least amount of food items in their bin each day collects the points toward this year’s Spirit Stick Contest. Points will be deducted for teams that tamper with another class’s bin.
In short, the goal is to fill the bins of your competitors more than they are able to fill your bin. Sounds simple!!
How do classes accumulate point?
Points will be awarded for the overall winner for CanJam as follows:
1st- 100 points
2nd- 80 points
3rd- 60 points
4th- 40 points
In addition, there will also be daily winners based on the collection of food from that day. At the close of each day, bins will be emptied and counted to declare a daily winner. Daily winners will be announced on Twitter (@thomastitans) and the Morning News.
1st- 50 points
2nd- 40 points
3rd- 30 points
4th- 20 points

Wednesday- Giving Thanks- Any item that would be served at a Thanksgiving dinner equals four items.
Thursday- That’s Amore- each item of traditional Italian food equals 2 items.
Friday- CanJam Day Each canned food item equals 5 items. Classes add to their own bin TODAY only
EACH DAY- ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL COUNT AS THE ITEMS FOR THAT DAY'S THEME.
Granola Bars
Peanut Butter
Jelly
School Supplies (notebooks, crayons, writing utensils)
Full Size Hygiene items (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc)
