LCES United: Together We Are More!
Mrs. Hladun's Tidings
Please join us on Tuesday, 10/17 from 7-7:20 pm in the LCE MPR as we host the WPUSD School Board meeting. During this time, we will be sharing information about our school and what makes it a great place to be. We'll be focusing on our wonderful VAPA programs, and we'll be emphasizing our Art Docent program (which is amazing!!!). We'd love to see proud Colts in the audience!
As fall approaches, I'm reminded that we always have something to be thankful for. This week, among many other reasons, I found myself thankful for those who reached out to our office and directly to me to express concern about their child(ren)'s school photos. I continue to feel thankful that Campus Color Studios heard our concerns and has gone above and beyond to help make our school portrait experience a positive one by:
~ offering two retake options (one was on Fri., 10/13, second is on Thurs., 11/9)
~ reprinting all student portraits (turns out their new printer wasn't properly calibrated, hence the 'off' coloring)
~ taking special care during retakes to ensure students are 'picture ready'
If you'd like to have your child's photo retaken after you get the reprinted photo package, we invite you to contact Campus Color Studios at 916 749-1026 or to email them at services@billsmithphoto.com. Be sure to leave your child's name, teacher's name, and note that you are an LCE family and they'll be sure to photograph your child on the 11/9 make up day. Call anytime - you can leave a voicemail.
At school, we take pride in The Colt Way, and our team actively teaches our children to be safe, respectful, responsible, and problem solvers. Sometimes, even with our best efforts, there are hurtful experiences that happen at school. At LCE, we do no tolerate intentional and pervasive unkind behavior, and we encourage you to let your child's teacher know if you are concerned about bullying. Along the same vein, here is a great infographic designed to help parents support their child when they are dealing with an unfriendly friend or a bully. We hope it gives you some language and direction to help support your child to be a "victor and not a victim."
