What a busy week! On top of all the learning, we had Talent Show, Swim Night, Kid Frankenstein play, and 5th graders visited Shumate. It was a lot of fun and we appreciated the PTO and parent support.

Parsons spotlighted Kristyl Bannon for her dedication to Young 5s this year. She has done an amazing job with our youngest learners and we appreciate her!

5th Grade Notes for Camp Week and End of Year Activities
Camp Week:
- Shirts and bandanas will be distributed on Friday, May 19th before camp.
- Ms Izbicki will stay back with any students who are not attending camp.
- Students who are attending camp will arrive at 7:15 am on Monday to get on the busses and out by 7:45 am.
- Students will return from camp around 12:30 pm on Wednesday. There will be sign-out sheets prepared for the kids to head home with their parents.
Clap Out and 5th Grade Graduation on June 12
- Clap Out - 1:45 on Monday, June 12th
- Parents may arrive at 1:30. Bring a chair. The ceremony will be outside on the blacktop.
- Students will line the hallway. Parents will line up outside the 4th/5th doors.
- Graduation Ceremony will start around 2:00.
- There will be principal remarks and each teacher will speak and present certificates to their class. There will be a class picture taken on the playground.
- Kids will sign out following the ceremony. Families should head out by 3:15 so we are ready for school dismissal.
- 5th-grade party in the evening at Parsons.

Summer School and Summer Learning Opportunities
Summer School
Summer School will be hosted at Hunter Elementary.
Teachers will reach out to you if your child meets the criteria set by the district.
The session dates are June 26, 27, 28. July 10, 11, 12. July 17, 18, 19. July 24, 25, 26. July 31.-Aug 1, 2 Aug 7, 8, 9.
Summer School will run from 8:30-11:30 am. With a light snack provided.
Transportation will be offered to all Gibraltar residents.
The program will focus on Reading/ELA, Math, and STEM.
The registration deadline is May 31st.
Parents will get a brief confirmation email on June 9th.
Parents will get a welcome letter from their child’s summer teacher on June 23rd.
Students should be able to attend at least 15 of the 18 sessions.
Summer Learning Link
Here is a summer learning link for families that may want to do something extra and fun with their kids over the summer. The booklets are leveled by early learners, lower elementary, and upper elementary. The activities involve science, literacy, and math.
