Celebrating Black History Month 🖤❤️💛💚
Black History Month Resources
One relevant way to celebrate Black History Month in your schools is by sharing the contributions of famous Black / African American Mathematicians past and present with whom students/staff may not be familiar. While we should admire the accomplishments of these incredible mathematicians any time of the year, the month of February provides a focused opportunity to gain a deeper historical context and make connections between the past, the present, and the future. Here is a slideshow of just 12 impactful mathematicians who are Black / African American. Please consider sharing those listed on this presentation and others you find beyond our list with your staff in one way or another over the course of the month of February.
