Parkland Magnet Middle School
Sunday Message - April 14, 2024
Monday is an EVEN Day.
Activity buses will only run on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Important Notes for This Week
1. MCAP Testing Continues This Week
Maryland State Testing continues this week on Monday and Tuesday as students will be finishing up their English Language Arts sections. Any students that were absent during the MCAP testing will begin the makeup testing later this week and all of next week.
The testing schedule is below and will be on the Parkland website. Please contact Ms. Tallapragada if you have any questions related to testing.
2. Please Welcome Mr. Maychel Harris - Acting Assistant Principal
We are excited to announce that Mr. Maychel Harris will be starting as the acting assistant principal for the remainder of the school year. Mr. Harris is a retired MCPS administrator with a wealth of administrative experience at the middle and high school levels and we know he will do an amazing job at Parkland.
Please click below to read the Community Letter regarding Mr. Harris.
3. April 22 Asynchronous Day
Families, please note that April 22 was originally supposed to be a No School Day for students. However, due to our inclement weather season, MCPS will be using April 22 as a make-up day.
Students WILL NOT be coming to school, but will be asked to complete assignments from home. Parkland will be asking students to complete a Math and English Language Arts Packet from home on April 22. The student work packets will be available online and paper copies will be made available for students to take home. These assignments will be used to take attendance for the school day. Please contact the grade level administrators.
